Position Overview

BANYAN is looking for a dynamic Sales Development Director to come in and help establish us as a global fintech infrastructure leader. BANYAN sits behind the scenes to allow consumers to connect their receipts to any app they choose in a secure, safe, and anonymized way. We partner with both merchants (who supply the receipts) and banks, neobanks, and fintechs (who have demand for receipts).

As Director, Sales Development, your number one priority will be to bridge the space between our various business partners and the Customer Success teams that work with them, with our technology team which is building the products these partners need. Your voice and vision will be critical to our success.

You will need to deeply understand the needs of all of our different types of business partners. With that understanding, you will help us communicate product requirements, and help us vision product solutions with compelling messaging that speaks to the partners which will use them.

Reporting directly to our EVP, General Manager, Financial Partnerships, you will work closely with the other Sales teams, as well as the Product, Marketing, and Customer Success. You will play a critical role in driving the next stage of our fast paced growth.

What you’ll do

  • Manage inbound leads by engaging and qualifying incoming inquiries from banks, Fintech, merchants, and other interested parties.
  • Discovering the customers’/prospects’ business initiatives
  • Sourcing new business and/or cross-sell pipeline and revenue through outbound prospecting efforts
  • Partnering with marketing on account-based call and email campaigns
  • Prospecting for opportunities and decision-makers in key client segments
  • Speaking to value and return on investment vs. technical functionality
  • Liaise and build trust with internal and external partners
  • Research and understand various lines of business and personas

What you bring

While we are open to the best candidate to get the job done, the following qualifications and experience are a guideline to what we are looking for. You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • Bachelors or M.B.A degree
  • Experience in sales development and managing a quickly growing pipeline
  • Previous success in prospecting efforts
  • Knowledge of Salesforce & marketing automation tools
  • Fintech, Banking, Payments, and/or Data Analytics experience
  • Enjoys technology and problem solving
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
  • Great communicator; verbal and written
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to make an impact on the Fintech space
