Director of Product Marketing

Overview

Banyan is looking for a dynamic B2B product marketer to come in and help establish us as a global fintech infrastructure leader. Banyan sits behind the scenes to allow consumers to connect their receipts to any app they choose in a secure, safe, and anonymized way. We partner with both merchants (who supply the receipts) and banks, neobanks, and fintechs (who have demand for receipts).

As the Director of Product Marketing your number one priority will be to bridge the space between our various business partners (on both the supply and demand side), and the sales and customer success teams that work with them, with our technology team which is building the products these partners need. Your voice and vision will be critical to our success.

You will need to deeply understand the needs of all of our different types of business partners. With that understanding, you will help us communicate product requirements, and help us vision product solutions with compelling messaging that speaks to the partners which will use them.

Reporting directly to our CMO with dotted line responsibility to our CTO, you will work closely with the Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales teams. You will play a critical role in driving the next stage of our fast paced growth.

Goals

  1. Needs: Own the synthesis of demand and supply partner needs, and be the conduit and voice of those partners to the product and broader technology team
  2. Tell the story: Work closely with product management to distill key functionality and benefits. Develop content and material the describes and explains our products, solutions, and offerings to prospective customers
  3. Go-to-market: Develop all necessary training and sales enablement tools and collaterals to support an effective go to market execution by our sales and customer success teams
  4. Developers: Help us build a “developer” community, and channel their voice to our product team
  5. Products: Partner closely with Product Management to evaluate and determine new product requirements, naming, and positioning

Qualifications and Experience

While we are open to the best candidate to get the job done, the following qualifications and experience are a guideline to what we are looking for. You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • Bachelors or M.B.A degree - ideally with a concentration in Marketing
  • 6-10 years of experience managing end-to-end product marketing in a B2B setting within tech, fin-tech, or banking
  • Ability to develop and implement processes to scale product marketing to succeed in a rapidly growing business
  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable reviewing and analyzing business performance metrics and KPIs; ability to pivot when the data tells you
  • Results-driven, with a passion for using data to build product marketing solutions that solve business problems, advance our brand narrative, and resonate with our supply (merchants) and demand (banks and fintechs) partners
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to resolve highly complex problems that require resolution at a senior management level, and which often have little or no organizational precedent
  • Strong collaborative skills, able to work across functional areas in a rapidly growing company
  • Technical competence to understand and position a highly advanced product portfolio
  • Experience leading others; strong motivator able to provide coaching and direction to teams and manage performance
  • Self starter with good time-management skills
